CAIRO - 12 Jun 2021: Egypt will launch two satellites (Nexast-1 and Egypt Sat-2) next year, announced Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, during the Europe-Africa Space Earth Observation High-Level Forum on Friday in Lisbon.
The“Nexsat 1” weighs 65 kilograms, while the "Egypt Sat-2" satellite weighs 330 kilograms, he added.
The Minister clarified that the Egyptian Space Agency was inaugurated in 2018, but the Egyptian space activities began much earlier, when it launched the (Egypt Sat 1) satellite in 2007, (Egypt sat 2A) in 2019, and (NARSSCUBE). - 1, 2) in 2019.
Egypt will host the headquarters of the African Space Agency, besides the Egyptian Space City that will be quipped with key capabilities of space technologies, he said.
