CAIRO – 7 July 2017: Ahmed Abu Zaid, Foreign Ministry's spokesperson condemned on Friday a suicide bomb attack on an army checkpoint in North Sinai, resulting in killing and injuring 26 Egyptian soldiers.

“With every drop of blood shed by martyr, we are becoming increasingly determinant to eradicate terrorism,” Abu Zaid tweeted, “confirming that (our) battle will continue against those who justify spilling of the blood of the innocent and those who incite, fund, plan and execute attacks and who shelters and cover up for terrorists.”




Earlier Friday, two vehicles were detonated while passing a checkpoint in an area between Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid in North Sinai.

Egypt faces an militants led by Islamic State terrorist group in North Sinai, where hundreds of soldiers and police have been killed since the ouster of outlawed Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated former President Mohamed Mursi in 2013.
