CAIRO – 22 May 2021: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al- Sisi received Saturday Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides, where both discussed bilateral strategic relations and Mideast peace process.
President Sisi welcomed the Cypriot foreign minister’s visit to Cairo, ensuring deep well-established and growing strategic relations between both countries in various fields.
He further signaled Egypt’s keenness on strengthening the mechanisms of join cooperation between Egypt and Cyprus, especially on political, military, commercial and energy levels, as well as upgrading existing cooperation within the framework of the tripartite mechanism with Greece, in a way that achieves common interests and goals for them in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
During the meeting, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed the importance of prompt work to revive peace negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides on the basis of the two-state solution, international legitimacy decisions and the rules of international law.
