CAIRO – 7 July 2017: French authorities evacuated Friday 2,000 immigrants from a camp in northern Paris, amid heavy police presence.
The evacuation operation, which is the 34th of its kind comes days before the French government unveils a new plan to combat illegal migration.
The French authorities said in a statement, the migrants were transported by bus to temporary reception centers.
In November, the Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo inaugurated a center to receive migrants to reduce the phenomenon of refugee camps in the French capital.
