(AEC) excepts to lift the ban on Egyptian strawberries and pepper

CAIRO – 6 July 2017:Chairman of Agriculture Export Council (AEC) Abdel Hamid el Demerdash expected the UAE and Saudi Arabia to lift the ban they imposed on the Egyptian agricultural crops including strawberry and pepper before the 2017-2018 export season.

In statements on Thursday on the sidelines of announcing the launching of the second phase of the green trade initiative project, Demerdash said representatives from the council had visited Saudi Arabia and UAE in the past period. He added that the council has reviewed measures taken by the Egyptian government to reassure on the safety of the crops before exporting them.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia and UAE had banned importing strawberry and pepper from Egypt.
