CAIRO - 4 May 2020: Secretary-general of the Egyptian Medical Syndicate, Osama Abdel-Hay, confirmed that the number of doctors who died due to the Coronavirus reached 500.
"I have a list of all the names, 13 percent of this number specializes in obstetrics and gynecology," Abdel-Hay revealed.
In a telephone interview with the media, Lamis Al-Hadidi on Extra News channel, Abdel-Hay said that doctors in public isolation hospitals, are all vulnerable to infection with the Coronavirus.
Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, offered condolences to all the medical teams working to confront the Coronavirus in isolation hospitals, at a press conference on the epidemiological situation in Egypt.
She explained, "Some 500 doctors were declared dead by other parties, and have been infected by other sources in the community."
The Ministry of Health and Population continues to raise its preparations in all governorates of the Republic, follow the situation first-hand regarding the emerging Coronavirus, and to take all the necessary preventive measures against any viruses or infectious diseases.
