Abbas in Paris for talks with Macron

PARIS - 5 July 2017: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived here late Tuesday on an official visit to meet President Emmanuel Macron.

Abbas will discuss with Macron at the Elysee Palace on Wednesday ways of halting Jewish settlement construction in the West Bank to create the conditions conducive to the resumption of Palestinian-Israeli negotiations on the basis of the Arab peace initiative and the principle of a two-state solution.

He is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Edouard Philippe and other French top officials.
