Egypt’s Sisi offers condolences to India over Covid-19 Victims

CAIRO – 30 April 2021: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi offered condolences to India for the loss of dozens of its citizens from the coronavirus pandemic, wishing a speedy recovery for all the infected people.

“On behalf of myself and the Egyptian people, I extend my sincere condolences to the government and friendly people of India for the victims of the Covid-19 pandemic,” President Sisi said on his official Twitter account on Friday.

“We hope that India will be able to pull through this difficult period as soon as possible, extending our best wishes for a speedy recovery to all the infected people and for safety and good health to all the friendly Indian people. I affirm Egypt's full solidarity with India in its efforts to tackle this situation,” President Sisi added.

India records more than 300,000 new coronavirus cases daily for nine days in a row, bringing the total number of infection cases since the spread of the virus to more than 18 million cases, including 209,581 deaths, World Meters reported. On Friday, it recorded 386,452 new cases, Reuters reported.
