Pope Tawadros II urges Egyptians to abide by COVID-19 precautionary measures

CAIRO – 29 April 2021: Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark urged all Egyptians to abide by COVID-19 precautionary measures announced by the government.

He affirmed that the Church prays to God to end this pandemic in the world, and stressing on the necessity of wearing masks, preserve social distancing, eating healthy food and using sanitizers especially during this holy week of celebrations.

The Coptic Orthodox Church announced, Thursday preparations ahead of the Easter Mass.

In a press release, the church said that all protective and preemptive measures will be taken to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

The Church also prayed to God to spare humanity the repercussions of the pandemic, all diseases and disasters.
