Egypt extends condolences to Indonesia over death of submarine crew

CAIRO – 26 April 2021: Egypt extended condolences to Indonesia over the death of 53 sailors in the capsizing incident of a submarine in Bali Sea while carrying out exercises.

 

The remains of the submarine that went missing on Friday were found on Sunday.

 

On April 22, the Supreme Council of Culture, in cooperation with the External Cultural Relations Sector, organized the 13th evening of the Cultural Relations Initiative, under the title "Egypt and Indonesia: Cultural Relations - Celebrating Ramadan" on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, and in celebration of the Egyptian-Indonesian cultural relations. 

 

Indonesian Ambassador to Cairo Lotfi Raouf stressed the importance of deepening his country's relations with Egypt, boosting the continuous communication between the two friendly peoples of Indonesia and Egypt, and enhancing the joint cooperation in all fields, most importantly in the cultural field. The ambassador concluded by highlighting the great similarity between the Indonesians and Egyptians.
