President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso tours the National Museum for Egyptian Civilization
CAIRO – 24 April 2021: President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso toured the National Museum for Egyptian Civilization, including the hall of royal mummies.
As many as 22 royal mummies were transferred to the museum this month in a glitzy three-mile parade that has captured international attention.
Renaud-Basso visiting of the NMEC in Fustat comes in conclusion of her first visit to Egypt, during which she met with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of International Cooperation Rania El-Mashat.
Renaud-Basso also signed a number of agreements of mutual cooperation between EBRD and both the government and private sectors in Egypt.
She also inspected a number of developmental projects that EBRD contributed to implementing.
Mashat accompanied the EBRD president during her visit to the museum.
Renaud-Basso listened to an explanation from officials at the museum about the history of over 50,000 displayed artifacts that display the entire history of Egyptian civilization in different eras.
She was also keen to take photos with the displayed Egyptian artifacts.
