CAIRO - 17 April 2020: Egypt’s Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed El-Tayyeb said that religious immoderation (extremism) and irreligiosity have nothing to do with moderate Islam.

Speaking in the fourth episode of his Ramadan program "El Imam El Tayyeb" on Friday on "Moderation of Islam" or "Moderate Islam", Tayyeb said that the doctrine of Islam establishes a balance between spiritualism and materialism.

He pointed out that Islam is a monotheistic religion that rejects atheism or the denial of divinity and polytheism (the belief in or worship of more than one god).

Moderation represents a safety valve in this true religion, Tayyeb made it clear.
