In pics: 7 new tram vehicles from Ukraine operated in Alexandria

CAIRO – 15 April 2021: Seven new tram vehicles were operated as part of a deal to import 15 new tram vehicles from Ukraine, to replace the old ones.

The new tram vehicles are air-conditioned supported with internet service, and the highest safety levels.

“A total of seven tram vehicles from Ukraine were installed and operated, completing the deal to supply the current fleet with 15 new trams,” said Hani Omar, an official at the General Authority for Transport in Alexandria.

Alexandria Governor Major General Mohamed al-Sharif announced operating seven new tram vehicles manufactured in Ukraine, in addition to operating two new tourist buses, and bringing them into service.

The new tram vehicles are equipped with a fire alarm system, as well as an electronic dashboard inside and outside the tram to show the pathway of the trip.
