Egypt’s Health Ministry calls on abiding by COVID precautionary measures amid rising infection rates

CAIRO – 14 April 2021: Undersecretary of Ministry of Health for Preventive Affairs Mohamed Abdel Fattah has sent a warning to citizens as the number of COVID infection rates are increasing.

 

The Ministry of Health registered 823 new COVID infections on Tuesday, and 39 deaths. A total of 432 recovered from the virus and left isolation hospitals.

 

“Everyone is required to be cautious in the current days, in order to prevent the spread of the infection,” he said, adding that there is huge overcrowding witnessed in most stores across the country.

 

Abdel Fattah stressed that all citizens have to wear their masks like they used to do during the first wave of the virus, especially with the remarkable increase in the number of infections these days.

 

“The state is playing an important role in protecting citizens and providing vaccines,” he said.

 

He further ensured that the vaccination plan of the ministry is flexible and updated regularly. He added that the plan started with 40 vaccination centers, and there are now 200 new centers to be added to the list.

 

A total of 900,000 citizens have registered to receive the vaccination, and 150,000 were vaccination so far with either Sinopharm or Astrazeneka.
