CAIRO - 12 April 2020: President Abdel Fattah el Sisi stressed the recent visit of Tunisian President Kais Saied to Egypt has underlined the deep-rooted and strong ties between both countries.

In a tweet on his social media pages, Sisi said he was keen to see Saied off at Cairo International Airport, as the Tunisian leader left on Sunday after wrapping up his three-day visit.

"We discussed the need to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in different domains and placed emphasis on the necessity of solidarity and unity to counter common challenges," Sisi added.

The leaders of Egypt and Tunisia on April 10, emphasized “identical views” on regional issues, promising “wider horizons and new means of cooperation.”

Tunisian President visited the Museum of Civilizations and other cultural landmarks in Cairo, and met with his Egyptian counterpart al-Sisi. In the conference following their meeting, they announced 2021 as the Egyptian-Tunisian year of culture to reflect common history.

They both agreed on “countering all terrorist organizations without exceptions, undermining their abilities to recruit new elements, and drying up the sources of their funding.”
