Egyptian pres. instructs bolstering national heavy industries

CAIRO – 5 April 2021: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi instructed creating an environment favorable for national heavy industries, primarily cement, steel, and iron constituting the input of mega national projects pertinent to the sectors of urbanization, housing, infrastructure, and roads.  

The president's instructions were stated in a meeting Sunday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli; Aide to the President for National and Strategic Projects Sherif Ismail; Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker; Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek al-Mulla; Minister of Finance Mohamed Mait; Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea; and Consultant to the President for Financial Affairs Mohamed Amin.

Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady stated that the meeting discussed the measures taken to develop the sectors of cement, steel, and iron.
