CAIRO – 3 April 2021: The long-awaited parade of the 22 ancient monarchs, including four queens, kicked off and the monarchs were seen each in a separate engine-powered stable cart, surrounded with performers.
The pharaohs are being moved from their residence at the Egyptian Museum in El-Tahrir square to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Fustat.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has arrived at the NMEC to follow up on the event. Live shows have been displayed.
Egyptian Minister of Tourism Khaled El-Enani said the royal mummies transferred tonight from the Egyptian Museum in Al-Tahrir will be the main artifacts of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC).
In a speech he delivered before the president, El-Enani said Tutankhamun and its treasure is now the main artifact of the Grand Egyptian Museum and the 22 mummies will also be the main artifacts of the NMEC.
The NMEC is a huge project that was designed and implemented by pure Egyptian hands, El-Enani said.
El-Enani said the main hall of the NMEC will be inaugurated on April 18.
El-Enani expressed thanks to all the entities that together worked and raced time to come out with such an event to the entire world.
Egypt’s Maestro Nader Abbassi is conducting the United Philharmonic Orchestra with 120 musicians and 100 singers for a monumental new composition by Egyptian composer Hesham Nazih at the parade.
Several celebrities, including Khaled El-Nabawi, Ahmed Ezz and Karim Abdel Aziz appeared in videos to promote the event. Yosra made a live appearance at the NMEC.
Singer Mohamed Mounir introduced a recorded video clip and singer Reham Abdel Hakim sang a classic Arabic song in a live appearance.
Meritamun, T, Hatshepsut, Ahmose Nefertari are the four queens of the parade.
Kings Ramses II, Ramses III, Ramses IV, Ramses V, Ramses VI and Ramses IX will tour the capital.
Kings in the parade also include Thutmose I, Thutmose II, Thutmose III, Thutmose IV, Seqenenre Tao, Amenhotep I, Amenhotep II, Amenhotep III, Seti I, Seti II, Merenptah and Siptah.
