We consider Egypt as ‘very important partner’: Poland PM

CAIRO – 4 July 2017: Poland Prime Minister Beata Szydło said Tuesday that Egypt is considered a ‘very important partner’ and that the Visegrad summit was a great opportunity to meet with President Abdel Fatah al- Sisi.

“We value Egypt’s efforts in preserving security and stability in the Middle East and North Africa region. Budapest considers Cairo as a very important partner especially in confronting illegal migration,” Szydło said in statements during a press conference following the summit held in the Hungarian capital Budapest.

She added that the Egyptian bodies have successfully controlled the illegal migration, and that the two governments cooperated more than once regarding this crisis.

Visegrad summit kicked off Tuesday with the participation of president Sisi along with other leaders from different countries including Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Egypt is the first Middle East country to be invited to the summit and the third worldwide after Japan and Germany. Several topics were discussed during the talks including fighting terrorism, illegal migration and energy security
