CAIRO – 25 March 2021: The ninth round of political consultations between Egypt and Pakistan was held in Cairo on Wednesday addressing bilateral relations, and possible ways of cooperation in the coming period.
The areas of cooperation eyed encompass scientific research, trade, industry, investment, education, culture, and religious affairs. Furthermore, both sides are set on exchanging views on regional and international matters of joint interest, and coordinating within international and UN conventions.
Pakistani Aviation Minister Ghulam Surur Khan discussed on March 11 with the Egyptian Ambassador to Pakistan Tariq Dahroug, matters of mutual interest, and ways to strengthen and develop bilateral relations.
The meeting took place in Islamabad, where the two sides agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of aviation, according to the official Pakistan News Agency.
Minister Surur Khan said that starting flights powered by EgyptAir between the cities of Karachi and Cairo is being considered between the two countries. He added that these flights “will contribute to strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations.”
The minister further praised the deep religious and cultural relations between both countries, saying that Pakistan and Egypt share similar views on international and regional issues.
For his part, Ambassador Tariq Dahroug referred to the progress made in the aviation field between the two brotherly countries.
