CAIRO – 23 March 2021: Burundian President Évariste Ndayishimiye arrived in Cairo Tuesday night in an official 3-day visit to Egypt in which he is scheduled to meet with several high-profile political officials.
Ndayishimiye and his accompanied delegation are expected to discuss several issues of mutual concern with Egyptian officials including African challenges along with boosting relations between the two countries in several fields.
Earlier in March, Burundian Foreign Minister Albert Shingiro expressed his country's appreciation for President Abdel Fattah el Sisi's great support of Burundi.
Shingiro expressed, during a meeting with Egyptian Ambassador to Burundi Yasser el Atawi, his country's keenness on boosting cooperation with Egypt that plays a pioneering role at the African and international arenas.
The two sides mulled ways of enhancing relations between the two countries in the political and economic domains.
