The end of the Hosni Mubarak era marked more than just a political change; for many, the January 25 Revolution signaled the beginning of an age of initiative. Young people, in particular, launched themselves into social and development projects with hopes of harnessing the grassroots momentum of Tahrir Square to help move the country forward on all fronts. Now Google is looking for the best and brightest of those youth with its Zeitgeist Young Minds competition.

Ten “exceptional, motivated and inspiring 18-24 year-olds” from Europe, the Middle East and Africa will be honored for their positive impact in the fields of science, arts, education, innovation or inspiration, according to the official competition announcement.

To enter, upload a 60-second video introducing yourself and how you’re making an impact on the world to HYPERLINK  HYPERLINK "http://www.zeitgeistyoungminds.com/" http://www.zeitgeistyoungminds.com/. The deadline for contest submission is March 19, 2012.

The winners will attend Google’s annual Zeitgeist forum in London, May 20-22, with the opportunity to meet business leaders and others who have changed the world. Past speakers at the Zeitgeist forum, now in its seventh year, include Al-Jazeera presenter Ahmed Shihab-Eldin, Queen Rania of Jordan, and former US President Bill Clinton, among others.

The Young Minds competition winners will also present their initiatives in panel discussions.

The Zeitgeist Young Minds competition is co-sponsored by Google and Livity HYPERLINK www.livity.co.uk, a London-based youth engagement agency that connects young people with business clients on projects that improve the lives of the youth. et
