Egypt obtained nearly 4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from Germany, so far.
The shipment will be subject to the necessary tests in the laboratories of the Egyptian Medicines Authority, to ensure the safety and effectiveness of vaccines before being distributed to the vaccination centers nationwide, the statement said.
The third shipment comes in light of the state’s plan and its keenness to provide all types of vaccines to citizens, to enhance societal immunity against the virus and its variants, Abdel-Ghaffar added.
Egypt received a shipment of AstraZeneca vaccines from Spain comprising 1,273,600 doses, said local reports on Thursday.
The shipment, weighing 198 kilograms, arrived on board a plane of the UAE Airlines.
