88 percent of individuals in Egypt used at least one new payment method during 2021; 35 percent of them resorted to mobile phones to make contactless payments.
The trial operation of the digital platform started with 34 services in July, Talaat said, adding that 72 more services are expected to be launched by the end of 2020, 210 services in 2021, 170 in 2022 and 98 in 2023.
The minister said these facilities will enable citizens to receive services without any added expenses.
In a circular on the aforementioned decision, the ministry appealed to financial and auditing departments to abide by all guidelines stipulated by the ministry on this score.
