The initiative was launched on December 6, 2022, as it comes within the framework of the state's concern for the health and safety of students.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that work has been resumed on the initiative of the President of the Republic for early detection of diseases (anemia, obesity and dwarfism) among primary school students.
The initiative to early detect anemia, obesity and dwarfism has been launched among primary school pupils, coinciding with the kickoff of the new school year 2021/2022.
The screening took place in 29,444 primary schools by 1,800 medical teams.
Egypt's Health Ministry said the second phase of the presidential initiative will start on Wednesday testing school students for dwarfism and obesity.
