The ambassador voiced Egypt’s welcome to cooperate with the new Yemeni government in various fields once it is formed.
Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Abul Gheit welcomed Saudi Arabia’s efforts to reactivate the Riyadh Agreement between the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council, which was signed in November 2019.
Egypt praised efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its keenness to implement the Riyadh Agreement, according to a Wednesday statement issued by Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The invitation, which was delivered by the Egyptian ambassador, asks for Saeed’s visit to discuss the ways of enhancing the bilateral relations.
Egypt is part of the Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthi militia in Yemen.
The two sides hailed the special level of cooperation between Egypt and the UAE, and discussed counter-terrorism efforts, a mutual statement read.
