CAIRO-19 March 2021: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said that he is excited with the outcome of the Champions League quarter-finals draw as Liverpool were drawn against Real Madrid.

“It’s exciting, exciting. It’s obviously a tough draw but I am fine with it. I am really looking forward to the games.” Klopp said.

Liverpool, who reached the quarter-finals after knocking out RB Leipzig, aim to continue their journey in the prestigious competition and save their season as they are suffering in the domestic league and they are now far from securing a top-four spot to reach the Champions League next season.

Both teams will face off for the first time since the 2018 UEFA Champions League final in Kiev, which ended with a 3-1 win for the Spanish giants thanks to a goal from Karim Benzema and a brace from Gareth Bale while Sadio Mane scored the Reds’ only goal in the match.

Klopp added “I think it’s the first time I faced them when Cristiano Ronaldo is not there; probably maybe the first time since Bale is not there. But obviously Ramos is still there, Varane still there, Kroos still there, Modric still there, Casemiro still there, Carvajal still there, Benzema still there. And a few young prospects, proper players on top of that.”
