CAIRO-6 March 2021: Al Ahly men’s basketball team defeated Zamalek 112-106 on Friday night in the Egyptian League.

Al Ahly players achieved an important victory at home as they leveled the score in the last two minutes of the fourth quarter despite behind behind since the start of the match.

“All the players put on a great performance, showing a great deal of perseverance and determination despite being late in the score during the first three quarters of the match.” Al Ahly’s pivot Omar Tarek told the club’s official website.

Zamalek were leading the game with 7 points at the end of the third quarter but the home team pushed forward in the last minutes of the match and managed to secure a draw and force the game to go to extra-time.

The Red Devils dominated the match in the extra-time thanks to the rebounds of Saif Samir and the perfect shots from Amr El Gendy and Ahmed Mohib to win the match 112-106.

“It was a difficult match but it was a good opportunity to cement the team’s fighting spirit. We fought till the end and achieved an important victory.” Al Ahly’s captain Mody El Garhy said after the match.
