CAIRO-11 February 2021: Al Ahly captain, Mohamed El Shenawy, believes that his team has a chance to win the bronze medal when the Red Eagles take on Brazil’s Palmeiras on Thursday afternoon in the FIFA Club World Cup bronze medal match at Education City stadium.

Al Ahly will compete in the bronze medal match after losing 2-0 to Bayern Munich on Monday.

“After a great game against the European champions, we’re very confident we can compete for third place. We’ll head into that game with real desire and solely focused on Palmeiras. It's going to be harder," Al Ahly captain said.

El Shenawy and his defense had a fantastic game against one of the most powerful attacking forces in the world and they were highly praised by Al Ahly fans after the match.

El Shenawy added “I'm sure our opponents have analysed our matches and already know our strengths and weaknesses, so we have to be very careful in this fixture,"

The African champions will appear in the third-place playoff for the third time in history, having won the game in 2006 while they lost to Mexico’s Monterrey in 2012.

The game starts on 5:00 PM.
