CAIRO-4 February 2021: Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp believes that his team is not showing the performance that makes them Premier League title contenders.

The Reds lost on Wednesday night to Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0 at home and they are now seven points behind the league leaders, Manchester City, who still have a game in hand.

"We were not fresh enough which means we were not good enough to break the formation of Brighton and in the end they scored a goal and had other chances. They deserved to win.” Klopp said after the match.

Liverpool and Manchester City will face off on Sunday in Manchester and the Reds need to be in best shape to break Manchester City's 13-winning streak in all competitions.

Klopp commented on Sunday's battle, saying "We will fight for three points, it is not decided who will get the three points on Sunday, but we have to play better and we will try. These gaps are not interesting at the moment."

Liverpool's last victory at Etihad against Manchester City came in 2015, while their last visit to the Citizens' ground ended with a 4-0 victory for the hosts.
