CAIRO-30 January 2021: Sweden Norwegian head coach Glenn Solberg expressed his pride after his players’ performance in the semi-finals against France, which took them to the World Cup final for the first time since 2001.

“We have played a wonderful game and our performance was perfect from the beginning until the last second of the game." Solberg said after the match.

Sweden defeated France on Friday to set up an all Scandinavian final against Denmark, who defeated Spain by two goals later on Friday.

Cairo International Complex will host the final on 31 January while Spain will meet France in the third place game.

Solberg added “I can't describe how happy I am to reach the final after 20 years. I believe we were in control of the game and dominated it and deserved winning the semi-final. We played a good tournament in general but we were unlucky with some absences. Our target now is the gold medal game.”

It is worth mentioning that Sweden’s last gold medal came in 1999 when Egypt hosted the World Cup for the first time.
