CAIRO-29 January 2021: Al Ahly’s first team left Cairo on Friday to Qatar to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled between 4 and 11 February.

Al Ahly’s coaching staff included all the players in the delegation heading to Qatar while the final list will be announced one day before the start of the tournament.

It is worth mentioning that Al Ahly’s President Captain Mahmoud El Khatib heads the team’s delegation to Qatar.

Al Ahly will take on Al Duhail SC in the first round on 4 February and the winner will face European giants, Bayern Munich, on 8 February.

Al Ahly take part in the competition for the sixth time in the club’s history, with their best achievement coming in 2006 when the Red Devils won the bronze medal.

In 2006, Al Ahly became the first Arab and African club to reach the podium in the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Red Devils secured a spot in the competition after defeating arch-rivals, Zamalek, in the CAF Champions League final.
