CAIRO-24 January 2021: Egypt men’s handball team faces Slovenia on Sunday night in the last match of the 2021 World Men's Handball Championship main round at Cairo Stadium Indoor Halls Complex.

The Pharaohs enter the match as the group leaders after they bounced back from their loss against Sweden with two victories over Russia Handball Federation and Belarus.

“The win against Belarus was of utmost importance, the same goes to the Russian Handball Federation match. Slovenia is a win or die game for us, we have 60 minutes to hard work.” Egypt’s winger Ali Zaen said.

Egypt needs one point to secure a spot in the quarter-finals but the hosts aim to reach the quarter-finals as group leaders to avoid facing the main contenders for the title and the defending champions, Denmark.

On the other hand, Sweden will take on Russian Handball Federation to decide who will book a ticket to the next round.

The game starts on 7:00 pm.
