CAIRO-23 January 2020: Egypt handball national team coach Roberto Parrondo revealed his happiness after the team’s victory over Belarus in the second match of the competition’s main round.

“I'm happy and proud of the win. The next match against Slovenia is now our priority." said Parrondo.

The Pharaohs put on a great performance and outclassed their European opponent to win the match by 9 goals.

Egypt’s captain Ahmed El Ahmar spoke after the victory, saying “Our coach is doing great and all the players are taking this tournament match by match and are giving their best.”

Egypt’s opponent, Sweden was held to a draw by Slovenia, which sent the hosts on top of the group table and they are now leading the race towards the quarter-finals.

Egypt will take on Slovenia in the last match of the main round while Sweden will have a tough match against Russian Handball Federation.

Egypt share the top with Sweden with six points, while Slovenia and the Russian Handball Federation are still in the race with five points each.
