CAIRO-15 January 2021: North Macedonia head coach Danilo Brestovac revealed his satisfaction with Egypt preparations to combat the spread of COVID-19 during the World Cup.

"I think all precautions taken in the tournament in relation to preventing the spread of COVID-19 are okay, we've had no issues with anything so far." Brestovac said on Thursday.

North Macedonia had been invited to take part in the competition days before its opening as a replacement to Czech Republic, who withdrew after discovering many COVID-19 cases in their squad.

North Macedonia replaced Czech Republic in Group G, alongside host nation Egypt, Chile and Sweden.

North Macedonia lost the first round of the group 32-20 to Sweden and they are preparing to face the hosts on Saturday.

Brestovac added "I hope we will do better against Egypt, we will prepare for that game and we hope to get a good result."

Egypt hosts the competition between 13 and 31 January 2021, with the participation of 32 teams for the first time in the competition's history.
