CAIRO-8 January 2020: Al Ahly and Zamalek are expecting difficult challenges in the CAF Champions League group stage this season as the draw put both Cairo giants in tough groups.
 
The CAF Champions League group stage draw was held on Friday in Cairo. 
 
Al Ahly were drawn in Group A alongside Congo's AS Vita Club, Tanzania's Simba and Sudan's Al Merrikh. 
 
The Red Devils will open their participation in the group stage at home against Al Merrikh on either 12 or 13 February. 
 
On the other hand, Zamalek were drawn in Group D alongside Tunisian giants, Esperence, Algeria's MC Alger and Teungueth of Senegal.
 
The White Knights will open their campaign in the competition against MC Alger at home  on either 12 or 13 February. 
 
Al Ahly and Zamalek met in the competition's final last season and the Red Devils managed to secure the title after a 2-1 victory.
