CAIRO-31 December 2020: Al Ahly Director of Football Sayed Abdelhafiz announced on Thursday that Al Ahly players: Marwan Mohsen, Akram Tawfik, Mohamed Hany and Mahmoud Kahraba tested positive for COVID-19.

Abdelhafiz added that the four players will follow the precautionary measures, set by the Egyptian Ministry of Health.

Al Ahly are preparing for the match against Wadi Degla, which is scheduled on Friday in the Egyptian Premier League.

Al Ahly winger Taher Mohamed Taher is expected to return to training on Thursday after suffering a rib injury during Al Ahly 4-0 win over Al Ittihad of Alexandria in the league.

Taher set up Kahraba's opener after a fantastic effort but he was forced to leave the pitch minutes later due to injury.

Al Ahly, who won a historic treble last season, have had a strong start to the league this season as they won their first three matches over Misr Lel Makkasa, Ghazl El Mahalla and Al Ittihad of Alexandria.

The Red Eagles aim to secure the league title for the sixth consecutive season and the 43th in the club's history.
