CAIRO-29 November 2020: Zamalek defender Mahmoud Hamdy El Wensh will miss the Egyptian Cup semi-final match against El Geish, scheduled on Tuesday.

El Wensh, who missed the CAF Champions League final after being tested positive for COVID-19, underwent a COVID-19 test on Saturday at his hometown in Sharqia and it came out positive.

On a similar note, Abdullah Gomaa and Youusef Obama who missed the final for the same reason will undergo another test on Monday or Tuesday.

The White Knights aim to bounce back after losing the CAF Champions League title on Friday night to their arch-rivals, Al Ahly.

The absence of the three players had a negative impact on the team in the match which ended with a 2-1 win for the Red Devils.

Zamalek will face El Geish in the Egyptian Cup semi-final at Borg El Arab stadium and the winner will face the winner between Al Ahly and Al Ittihad of Alexandria.

Al Ahly secured their 9th title in the competition and booked a place in the FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled in February 2021.
