CAIRO-28 November 2020: Al Ahly booked their place in the FIFA Club World Cup competition for the sixth time in the club's history.

Al Ahly will participate in the competition as the Champions of CAF Champions League after securing the title on Friday night at Cairo International stadium.

Al Ahly defeated arch-rivals Zamalek 2-1 on Friday night in the first all-Cairo CAF Champions League final.

Al Ahly opened the score after just five minutes thanks to a header from midfielder Amr El Soulia who received a wonderful cross from Ali Maaloul.

Zamalek captain Shikabala equalized the score for the white Knights after 30 minutes as he dribbled three defenders from Al Ahly and shot the ball into the top corner of the goal.

Mohamed Magdy Afsha scored the winning goal for Al Ahly only five minutes before the final whistle to declare Al Ahly Champions of Africa.

"We are now in the FIFA Club World Cup which is a huge achievement for us. I would like to congratulate all our fans for all their support.” Al Ahly defender Yasser Ibrahim said after the match.

Al Ahly's best achievement in the global competition came in 2006 after winning the Bronze medal in the tournament.
