CAIRO-26 October 2020: Pyramids lost the CAF Confederation Cup final 1-0 to RS Berkane on Sunday night at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Veteran Moroccan striker Mohssine Iajour scored his team’s only goal in the match after 15 minutes. This goal was enough for the Moroccans to win the title for the first time in the club’s history.

“It was a tough game against a big team like Pyramids, who have many experienced players. We dominated the match and had many chances to score. Pyramids also created many chances but our defense was stronger and broke their attempts to equalize the score.” RS Berkane manager, Tarik Sektioui, said after the game.

Sektioui led his team to glory as the Moroccan team won the title for the first time in the club’s history after reaching the final last season but they lost it to Zamalek.

The referee’s decisions during the match caused much controversy as his decisions were in favor of the Moroccan side.

Pyramids delegation touched down in Cairo on Monday morning after spending the last week in Morocco.

They will prepare for their last match in the league against Arab Contractors and they hope to get the three points and wait Zamalek to lose points against Ismaily to secure the second place and reach the CAF Champions League competition.
