CAIRO-24 October 2020: Al Ahly defeated Wydad Casablanca 3-1 on Friday night in the CAF Champions League semi-final second leg to reach the competition’s final.

Al Ahly won the tie 5-1 on aggregate to secure their place in the CAF Champions League final for the 13th time in the club’s history.

“It was a difficult game against a big team. We scored early in the match like what we did in the first leg in Morocco.” Mosimane told the club’s official website after the match.

Marwan Mohsen opened the score after 7 minutes as Amr El Solia’s pass put him one against one with the opponent’s goalkeeper. Mohsen received the pass perfectly and put the ball in the back of the net.

The referee disallowed the goal for offside but he reversed the decision after checking VAR.

Hussein El Shahat doubled the score for the Red Eagles after 29 minutes when he dribbled Wydad’s defender twice and tricked the goalkeeper to make the score 2-0.

Al Ahly added the third goal thanks to a perfect header from Yasser Ibrahim.

Wydad’s only goal in the game was scored by Zouhair El Moutaraji 8 minutes before the final whistle.

Al Ahly will face the winner between Zamalek and Raja Casablanca at Cairo stadium on 6 November.
