CAIRO-12 September 2020: Al Ahly Swiss manager Rene Weiler commented on his team's victory over Ismaily, adding that he wants to secure the league title on Monday when Al Ahly take on Al Ittihad at Borg El Arab stadium. 
 
"We want to secure the league title on Monday by defeating Al Ittihad." Weiler told press after the game.
 
Al Ahly defeated Ismaily 3_0 on Friday night and took another step towards achieving their fifth straight league title. 
 
Al Ahly have a chance to crown themselves champions on Monday if they defeat Al Ittihad of Alexandria. 
 
Al Ahly are leading the Egyptian league table with 71 points while their arch rivals Zamalek come second with 52 points.
 
Weiler commented on postponing the CAF Champions League semi-finals, saying "The decision has a positive impact, which is helping the players return to their pre-Covid-19 performance levels." 
 
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) postponed the remainder of African club competitions. 
 
The games, initially scheduled to be played in May, were pushed back to September amid coronavirus pandemic.
 
Moroccan clubs requested to postpone the CAF Champions League, CAF Confederation Cup games as some of their players tested positive for coronavirus. 
 
Al Ahly agreed on the Moroccan clubs' request while Zamalek and Pyramids rejected the offer, suggesting to play both legs in Cairo. 
 
At the end, CAF executive committee decided to postpone the remainder of the club competitions to October. 
 
Al Ahly and Zamalek will face Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca and Raja Casablanca respectively in the CAF Champions League semi-finals.
 
The first leg is set to be played on 16 and 17 October in Morocco while the second leg will be played a week later in Cairo.
 
The CAF Champions League final is set to be played on 6 November.
