CAIRO-10 September 2020: Inter Milan Argentinian legend Javier Zanetti believes that the club’s starting striker, Lautaro Martinez, will not leave the club this summer.

“Lautaro isn't leaving Inter. He looks happy with life in Italy, which isn't easy. I think he's going down the right path.” Zanetti said.

Lautaro has been linked with a move to Barcelona after he proved his abilities as one of the promising talents during his first two years in Europe.

Zanettid added "It's not just Barcelona who are interested in him, but Lautaro knows that he's at a great club already. He's our present and future.”

The financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic forced Barcelona to withdraw from the deal which would cost the club more than €80 million, according to sources in Milano.

Lautaro joined Inter Milan in 2018 summer from his Argentinean childhood club Racing Club and since then he established himself as the team's starting striker.

Last season, he formed a prolific partnership with the club’s Belgian striker, Romelu Lukaku, and they led the club to reach the Europa League Final but lost 3-2 to Sevilla.
