CAIRO, 16 August 2020: The Sports Court issued a decision to lift the suspension of Islam Al-Shehabi, the Egyptian judo player, and acquitted him of the charge of doping.

Islam Al-Shehabi, a player in the Egyptian judo national team, obtained a ruling abolishing the eight-year suspension by the International Sports Court.

The International Doping Organization "WADA" decided earlier to suspend Islam Al-Shehabi, the judo team player, for 8 years after it was proven that he had doped during the Republic Championship in which the player participated in January 2019.

Abdullah Al-Shehabi, the player's lawyer, filed a lawsuit with the International Sports Court demanding that the punishment imposed on the international player be canceled and that he be compensated for the damages caused to him by the announcement of his suspension for participating in two championships in the past year.

The player also received a compensation of 3 thousand Swiss francs, which he announced his official donation on behalf of the Egyptian Anti-Doping Organization in a good gesture from Al-Shehabi, who announced his satisfaction with the ruling issued in his favor.
