Varane praises "complete" Benzema

CAIRO_1 August 2020: Real Madrid French defender Raphael Varane hails his countryman Karim Benzema for his contributions in Real Madrid's campaign to win the domestic league title this season. 

 

"Benzema is in great form, I'm not surprised. Everyone knows his quality." Varane said.

 

Benzema scored 21 goals, provided 8 assists to secure the league title for Los Blancos after a fierce title race with arch rivals Barcelona.

 

Varane added "He has great confidence and he's one of the best, he's our leader in attack and he gives us a lot more than just scoring goals." 

 

Real Madrid is set to face Premier League giants Manchester City on Friday in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg.

 

Despite their 2_1 loss in the first leg in Madrid, the French defender believes that his team has a chance to win the tie.

 

He continued "We have a lot of experience in these big games, so we can rest easy, we're just as decisive as before, winning is always our aim and it's in this club's DNA."
