CAIRO-23 July 2020: Nabil Maaloul, Syria national team manager, praised Liverpool Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah after he led his team to win the Premier League title for the first time since 1990.

"We are proud of Mohamed Salah as he has achieved what no one else has achieved before." Maaloul said on Wednesday.

Liverpool defeated Chelsea 5_3 on Wednesday night to finish the season's home games in style.

The Tunisian manager added "There are many distinguished Arab players but to win the UEFA Champions League title, the Premier League title as well as winning the golden boot award in two consecutive seasons is amazing."

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson lifted the long-awaited trophy in front of an empty Anfield except for the team staff and the players' families who were given permission to attend the spectacular ceremony.

Henderson received the trophy from the club legend Kenny Dalglish, who was the team's manager when the Reds last won the title in 1990.

The Egyptian winger wore the Egyptian flag during the ceremony as he became the first Egyptian player to win a Premier League medal.
