CAIRO - 4 June 2020: Former Real Madrid and Schalke legend, Raul Gonzalez, becomes a potential candidate to coach Schalke, according to German reports.

Raul is the current manager of Real Madrid's Castilla and he is highly admired by Schalke board and enjoys a great relationship with the fans.

Schalke are suffering since the Bundesliga returned and they failed to get any point from their four games including a humiliating 4_0 loss against Borussia Dortmund.

This poor form raised the speculations over the future of the club's current manager David Wagner.

Raul, who is widely known for his 16-year stint with Real Madrid, wore the Royal Blues jersey between 2010 and 2012 and he managed to score 28 goals in 66 occasions.

The former Spanish striker always revealed that Schalke fans has a special place in his heart and he would be happy to return to the club.
