CAIRO_ 23 May 2020: Zamalek French manager Patrice Carteron agreed to sign a one-year extension contract with the club, according to Zamalek channel.

The French manager will coach the club for the next season after he returned the team to the right track since he was appointed as the club manager in December 2019.

Carteron managed to win with Zamalek the CAF Super Cup after defeating Esperance, reigning CAF Champions League champions, 3-1.

Additionally, Carteron led Zamalek in knocking out Esperance after defeating them on aggregate 3-2 in this year's CAF Champions League quarter-finals.

Zamalek, 2019 CAF Confederation Cup winners, will face Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca at the CAF Champions League semi-finals.

The Frenchman is considered to be one of Africa’s elite managers especially having won the CAF Champions League while coaching Mazembe along with winning the CAF Super Cup twice with Raja Casablanca and Zamalek.
