Carteron to renew his contract with Zamalek

CAIRO_1 May 2020: Zamalek French manager, Patrice Carteron, will stay at Zamalek the next season, according to the club's director of football Amir Mortada Mansour.

"We have reached an agreement with Carteron to renew his contract with the club. The official announcement will be soon." Amir Mortada said on Thursday.

Since his appointment as the club manager, Carteron led the club to win the CAF Super Cup and the Egyptian Super Cup in one week as well as leading the club to CAF Champions League semi-finals.

Amir continued "We have not given up on the league title as we still have the second half of the season but it is impossible to complete the season."

Since 14 March, football competitions in Egypt, including the Egyptian top division, have been suspended due to the spread of coronavirus.

Zamalek are fourth at the league table with 31 points, 18 points behind the defending champions, and the league leaders, Al Ahly, who played a game more.
