CAIRO_12 April 2020: Pyramids announced on Saturday that they have signed Al Ahly defender, Ahmed Fathy. Egypt national team captain, Fathy, signed a three-year contract with his new club.

"Fathy signed the contract six days ago. We did not have any doubt to sign one of the best players in Egypt but the process needs some time to finish the deal." Football Contracts Director, Amr Bassiony, told ONTime Sports on Saturday.

Fathy represented Al Ahly since 2008 but he and the club failed to reach an agreement over contract extension.

It has been reported that the 35-year-old right-back [Fathy] rejected Al Ahly's offer after receiving a stronger offer financially from Pyramids FC.

As a result, Al Ahly released an official statement wishing Fathy all the best of luck in his future career.

Fathy has a wonderful career since he was promoted to Ismaily's first team in 2001 and took part in their glorious run to win the title in 2002.

Fathy joined Al Ahly in 2008 and he played a massive role in the team's successes during his time at the club.
