CAIRO – 21 June 2017: Mino Riola, Donnarumma’s agent, revealed to La Gazzetta dello Sport on June 19 the reason behind Donnarumma’s decision to leave AC Milan end of next season because of mistreatment.

Riola stated his concerns towards how Donnarumma is treated at AC Milan, "What really struck him was that remark by [sporting director Massimiliano] Mirabelli -- 'If you don't sign, you're going to stay in the stands.' Let's see what happens now, but it stinks of mobbing around here. It's best to die on your feet than live on your knees," according to ESPN citing La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“There were still four games of the season to go and Mirabelli started stressing Gigio out," he said. "There was a moment when the lad (Donnarumma) was trying to avoid him at Milanello [training center]. They treated him like an asset, not like a fans' favorite. They tried to tap him up by saying he could sign and still leave if he wanted.”

Riola ended his talk by criticizing Milan’s actions and he compared them to the actions of a small club.

"They never let him be. In a big club like this, this doesn't happen anymore. It reminded me of some things I saw many years ago at small clubs in the south,” Riola’s added.

According to Goal, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Paris-Saint Germain are willing to sign Donnarumma after the player announced that he will not renew his contract.
